I had a just perfect stay here and would return there. The staff were affable and patient all the time. I really enjoyed this hotel because the location was perfect and amazing close enough to the foothills of sequoia NP, the park and rivers and river. Besides, it was 3 km away from Sage Roots.
Didn't like the area, it was uninviting.

The location here is fantastic, right by the river and close to a market and shops, and the staff were friendly and helpful all day, plus we were able to get a room with a bathtub.

It was huge, brand-new and with fridge and microwave...

The rooms are extremely spacious with double beds. The location is fab, to the national parks. The bets part that it's just next door to the foothills and Sequoia National Park, eating places and general stores and the creek.

Very close to the Kings Canyon National Park entrance. Staff were friendly and upgraded us without us asking. Not the best looking hotel, needs to be upgraded and painted to be a bit more pleasant, but if you are just looking for a large room to sleep in when you are not hitting the park then this will do.
needs a little TLC- good size rooms, but upgraded linens and paint may make it feel a bit more modern.

The staff here was very accommodating and friendly, making our stay enjoyable; the location couldn't have been better, being so close to the supermarket, national park, and a lovely creek in a picturesque grassy area.

The location very near the town and the sequoia park. Room was big and clean. Very good price.
It's old and some works on restrooms are needed. Breakfast is very limited but ok

The room and beds were clean and in good order. Staff was friendly. Room had a balcony with chairs to sit outside. Easy to reach Sequoia Natl. Park from this location.
Breakfast was rather crowded; simply due to lack of space (tables, seats). WiFi was unreliable in the rooms, only working at the pool area. I was told this was due to a recent fire at the reception, though I recall a similar experience on these aspects from an earlier stay.

The king deluxe room was roomy. The shower was hot and nigh pressure. The room was quiet, the air conditioning worked well and it was nice to have a patio, even though the view was of a lawn and berm in the foreground, the distant hills are lovely. The in room fridge and coffee ( and extra sink) were convenient, as was the Internet access. The bed was comfy. The hotel does not tell guests, but the been behind the hotel can be crossed and a local path leads to the beautiful river at a great place for safe swimming. The hotel pool is heated and the manager will heat the hot tubs, but require 30-40 minute warning to warm up.
The breakfast is basic, coffee, orange juice, cereal, waffles (yum), Danish and toast. There were oranges some days. This was fine for me, but picky breakfast eaters might not be pleased.

Nice views from room late hours of the swimming pool picnic/bbq/playground area the cleaning staff were all very nice and helpful.
Person who checked us in (myself/boyfriend and our friend) would not let us pay for the room on 3 different credit cards. Thus, we had to use the cash we needed for traveling. She finally ended up letting our friend pay his share of the room on his card, but my boyfriend and I had to pay with cash. She stated that it was "complicated" to let us use 3 different cards. I understand it involves more work; however, it is certainly doable and in fact the Best Western in Tehachapi just let us do this with no problem the night before our stay at whl. the hot tub was filthy and thus we could not use it. one of the swings was broken. the breakfast was merely adequate, with old oranges, no eggs, sausage, or hot chocolate. having waffles as the main breakfast item is inefficient as there are only two waffle makers and it takes too long for each person to make his or her waffle (though we enjoyed having waffles). WHL is overly expensive. that all said, i would still recommend it for its location and pretty views.

Room furnishings were of very poor quality. The room was worth $50 a night and no more.
